Montfort Brothers in Buxar Diocese
Montfort Vocational Training Centre was started during the tenure of then Provincial Superior Rev, Bro. P.T.George. A piece of land is given to the Brothers by the Diocese. Bros. Syprian Lugun and Mike Jatrom stayed in the Parish campus with the priests and started a Computer training centre. Montfort Vocational Training Centre was blessed on 19th June 2011 by the Bishop of Buxar Diocese and inaugurated by the Provincial delegate Rev. Bro. Felix Martis . There was a big gathering of the parishners. After the Holy Mass Brothers were welcomed by the Bishop. Children and youths had staged a colourful short cultural programme.
Montfort Vocational Training Centre began its training programme with 7 trainees but after a few weeks two trainees discontinued. Later number grew but after a year the number went down. So far about 90 trainees benefited from this Institute. Every year the Institute organizes Computer crash course for the youths of the Diocese.
The new house for the Brothers (MONTFORT HOME) was blessed on 7th September 2013 and inaugurated by Rev. Bro. Clement Kandulna, Provincial Superior of Ranchi Province. Brothers from Loyola Patna, St. Aloysius Ranchi, Nawatanr, Montfort Vidya Deep, Jhirgatoli and Montfort Niwas Kanke were present on that day to encourage Bro. Mike because at that time he was all alone in the community.
The construction of the welding workshop and Computer room began on 5th October 2015. After the completion of few more rooms the Institute will start Computer courses, training for mobile repairing and fabrication workshop in the campus. Bro. Sanjay Toppo and Bro. Mike Jatrom are working hard to bring up the new centre.
After the visit of many Brothers and thorough scrutiny of the land papers we have purchased about three and half acres of land at Sanjhauli Block in Buxar diocese. Till today about 3.80 decimal land is registered in the name of Brothers of St. Gabriel Education Society, Ranchi, Jharkhand.
